A new type of tour is coming to Oslo

Tourism is evolving quickly. There is of course still place in the tourism landscape for the standard sight-seeing tours, which includes our most popular product “Oslo Highlights bike tour”. We love showing our customers some of the main sites, like the Vigeland sculpture park, the Aker Brygge harbour, the city hall, and the old fortress Akershus Festning.

But many customers tell us that they are looking to go beyond the main sites and see real life in Oslo. Inspired by this idea and the simple concept of showing customers where we live and hang out, Viking Biking & Hiking will launch a new series of tours in 2027 called “Real Life in Oslo”. Biking and walking tours will be available, showing everything from off-the-beaten-path urban neighborhoods, to apartment block areas to neighborhoods popular with families looking for row homes or charming single family houses. There will be great sites along the way of course: old churches, amazing fjord views, rushing waterfalls, one of the world’s largest indoor ski resorts, and more. But the general vibe of the tour is to show customers what real life in Oslo is like. By the end of the tour, customers can imagine what it would be like to live here. During the course of a 4 hour tour, it is likely that we never cross paths with any other tourists. The real life in Oslo tours will be unlike any other tour on the market.
